I greet you with a shalom, I wish you shalom; this means that I invoke upon you: peace, blessing, health, healing, prosperity…I bless you!

From this first editorial, we get to the heart of the matter by asking ourselves this essential question : Why prepare ourselves for the Return in Glory of the Lord Jesus Christ ?

In the Gospel according to Luke, chapter 21, the Lord Jesus speaks of His Return following a question from his disciples. Jesus' answer in verse 27 is clear: "...then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with great power and glory." The Son of man is Him, the Lord Jesus. He announces His own glorious return, in the fullness of His power. From his very mouth, there is no doubt, He will return.

In verse 36, Jesus continues with a warning: "Watch therefore, be watchful, and pray at all times, that you may have strength to escape all these things, to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of the man ".

In the Gospel according to Matthew we read, chapter 24 verse 44 : "Because of this, you be ready, for the Son of man is coming at an hour of which you do not think". Further on, still in Matthew 25:13, Jesus says: “Watch therefore, since you know neither the day nor the hour”.

In summary, Jesus clearly announces that one day He will return in glory and power. In the meantime, He warns us, He commands us to watch, to be vigilant, to be ready, to pray...

The call is addressed to each one, to each one... To you who hear it, it is a divine call, the call of Him who is Lord and whose Name is above all Names.

So responding to His call, getting ready, is not just an option that we could follow according to our feelings or our theology, but a real commandment. It is a matter of obedience, wisdom and protection.

It is important to note that Jesus gave his warnings, not to future and distant generations, but his words were already addressed to those of his generation. This is why many first-century believers believed that Jesus would return in their lifetime. But no one knows the day or the hour.

In obedience to the Lord, let us proclaim aloud: "Yes Lord Jesus, I hear your call, your command to prepare myself, to watch, to pray, to be vigilant while waiting for your glorious and powerful Return, in order to appear standing before You. . I love you. »

Today we take seriously Jesus' command to prepare for His return. Tomorrow we will discover that Jesus has given us two challenges related to His Return.

Maranatha !

The first Christians did not say goodbye or farewell but Maranatha, which comes from Aramaic and can be translated: “the Lord is coming, He is coming back. This is how I greet you.
