In the continuity of the previous editorial, in which we have gone through the factors that have impacted France since the 18th century, we could pose as an observation, the rapid passage :
- of a change of era : "it was better before, during the 30 glorious years...",
- of a change of civilisation corresponding to the fear of losing the Judeo-Christian heritage of France and Europe,
- to a transformation of humanity with the loss of our creational haunts in the name of so-called "progressivism". This leads to a certain "decadence" for the Man, the couple, the family created and loved from all eternity by a Good and Loving Father.
Let's be realistic : the loss of our creational lairs has its source in the original diabolical attempt of satan who in Genesis 3:4 and 5 says to man, “…you shall not die; but God knows that on the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good and evil.”
We therefore make a diagnosis here : The transformation of humanity is a satanic project to attempt to destroy the very foundations of humanity created by the Triune God. This project is based on the madness of man who desires to be "like god". This folly is evidently described in Psalm 2:2 and 3, which records that the elite of this world have banded together and rebelled against the Lord and His Messiah, Christ Jesus. They have cast off Divine Law, which in their eyes is nothing but coercion and bondage, with these words: "Let us break their bonds, and cast their chains far from us."
After you understand this diagnosis: "How do we live with God in a world without God?" The men of our time think of living in an adult society which claims to be able to construct its own history, without being guided by a God. How to live faith in Christ, in a society that no longer believes in Christ? These questions posed by the German pastor, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, assassinated by the Nazis in 1945, are still topical.
One way to answer this is to, on the one hand, make our exhortation of Acts 2:40: “…Flee from this wicked generation”. The Greek word here is skolias (resulting in scoliosis), so "let's save ourselves from this 'twisted' generation!"
And on the other hand, to believe that whatever the situation, the Church is on a mission and that her vocation is to get involved in History (with a capital H) which is in the process of becoming to write. This awareness is essential to get moving and actively participate in the History. Let us take as an example this story brought back from the Middle Ages. Several stone cutters worked side by side. Someone came up to ask each of them, "Why are you here, what are you doing?" Each stonecutter had a good reason: The first worked to feed his family; the second loved his job passionately, the third was simply not idle and did not want to sit idle, etc. As for the last, he answered: "I am building a cathedral!" This one had a different consciousness, from the other workers, a different consciousness of the times in which he lived. His vision "transcended" each of his repetitive stonemason gestures.
The stonemason, like the sons of Issakar in the days of King David in 1 Chronicles 12.32, had knowledge of the discernment of the times.
The stonemason, like David, "in his time, in his day, helped to bring about the plan of God" Acts 13:36.
Returning to our initial observations : the loss of creational landmarks and a world increasingly hostile to God and his Word, leads us to answer the following questions :
Are we going to realise the situation of the times we live in?
Will we accomplish, in our generation, what is intended in God's Eternal Plan?
Will our mission, our vocation push us to "transcend" our daily life?
Worthy sons and daughters of God! Let us keep our eyes fixed on the Word of God and the Lord Jesus Christ who possesses, in all circumstances, all power, all authority in heaven and on earth according to Matthew 28.18.
Let's claim out loud : « Father, Thy Will be done on this earth as it is done in heaven. »
Maranatha !
